Fire and Security Systems Developments

09-Apr-2015

New Developments in Fire and Security Systems Given by Member Briscoe

  1. Wireless  Alarm Systems

These wireless systems can save the building owners a lot of money in installation costs. These systems do have limitations but are accepted by almost all Fire Marshals and can be used for Fire, Security and Central Station. They have made tremendous advances in supervising the wireless transmitters via mesh technology and longer battery life for the sensors to minimize maintenance costs.

  1.  Video Verification and Remote Access

Video has been available on smart phones and tablets for some time but now you can see multiple screens at the same time, playback your DVR and also get video clips of an security alarm event sent to your portable device.

  1. Remote Managed Security Systems

You can lock or unlock doors in your building, read and control the temperature in certain areas economically, turn on lights and turn different areas of your security system in the building on and off or be notified by an alert when someone else does. You can also have your access control system remotely managed / hosted or you can control multiple buildings from one main area.

  1. Combination Carbon Monoxide and Smoke Detectors

Effective June of 2015 Carbon Monoxide Detection will be required in commercial buildings statewide.

Combination detectors, allows building owners to save money by installing only one device on the initial installation and save money in maintenance by only changing the sensor after its useful life and not the entire detector.
